WEDNESDAY OF THE FIFTEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME - Mt 11:25-27 - THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

"I give praise to you, Father Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike." (Mt 11:25)

READING OF THE DAY

A reading from the Book of Isaiah

Is 10:5-7, 13b-16

Thus says the LORD:

Woe to Assyria! My rod in anger,

my staff in wrath.

Against an impious nation I send him,

and against a people under my wrath I order him

To seize plunder, carry off loot,

and tread them down like the mud of the streets.

But this is not what he intends,

nor does he have this in mind;

Rather, it is in his heart to destroy,

to make an end of nations not a few.

For he says:

“By my own power I have done it,

and by my wisdom, for I am shrewd.

I have moved the boundaries of peoples,

their treasures I have pillaged,

and, like a giant, I have put down the enthroned.

My hand has seized like a nest

the riches of nations;

As one takes eggs left alone,

so I took in all the earth;

No one fluttered a wing,

or opened a mouth, or chirped!”

Will the axe boast against him who hews with it?

Will the saw exalt itself above him who wields it?

As if a rod could sway him who lifts it,

or a staff him who is not wood!

Therefore the Lord, the LORD of hosts,

will send among his fat ones leanness,

And instead of his glory there will be kindling

like the kindling of fire.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY

From the Gospel according to Matthew

Mt 11:25-27

At that time Jesus exclaimed:

“I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,

for although you have hidden these things

from the wise and the learned

you have revealed them to the childlike.

Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.

All things have been handed over to me by my Father.

No one knows the Son except the Father,

and no one knows the Father except the Son

and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”

WEDNESDAY OF THE FIFTEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME - Mt 11:25-27

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

Dear People of God,

The Word of God today tells about Jesus Christ's prayer to God the Father: "I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.”

Jesus Christ's prayer to God the Father was His desire to care for the little ones. God said: All those who are humble, self-effacing, simple and small in heart will always please God the Father; and when God pleases, He will reveal part of the intentions and mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, which is happiness for the little people who know God's commandments.

When Jesus Christ prayed, He always praised, honored, and glorified God the Father. It is an image and an example for everyone to learn how to humble themselves before God the Father. Because only God is the One who understands everything, the One who can do everything, and no one has the power and authority like Him. Through the image of Christ's humility, He invites His disciples:

- We must know how to be self-abasement and humble ourselves before God the Father.

- Place ourselves as a weak, sinful and imperfect child before God the Father.

- Know how to humble ourselves before God as a foolish person, knowing nothing, so that we can only trust and call on the name of God the Father.

Only then will God let the little ones understand the mystery of the Kingdom of Heaven, and reveal the path of God the Father.

He invited everyone to look at the images of the following examples of humility and self-abasement:

- Jesus Christ, always humble and obedient to God the Father in all things.

- Mother Mary is a small woman who always lives humbly before God.

- Saint John the Baptist humbly admitted that he was the one who prepared the way for Jesus.

Through those images, He invited His disciples to become small before God in everything. Because it is the little and insignificant people who need to receive the grace of God the Father. If a person is arrogant, conceited, and proud, believing they understand all the ways of God the Father, then such a person will not receive all God's grace. Because God is almighty, omnipotent, and has full authority over everyone. At this time, God also showed everyone the image of God the Father in His childlike children present on this earth. These are His children in the Army of Light. These are child-like children who are living to please God the Father. He also invites these little children in His Army of Light to become humble and small before God, and before their brothers and sisters. The more humble you become, the more grace you receive from God.

The Word of God today invites everyone: to live and carry out the teachings of God the Father, to have a simple and small heart, because God only reveals His will to the least, in the love of God the Father and Mother Mary.

Thanks be to God. Amen.
