A reading from the Book of Proverbs
Refuse no one the good on which he has a claim
when it is in your power to do it for him.
Say not to your neighbor, “Go, and come again,
tomorrow I will give,” when you can give at once.
Plot no evil against your neighbor,
against one who lives at peace with you.
Quarrel not with a man without cause,
with one who has done you no harm.
Envy not the lawless man
and choose none of his ways:
To the LORD the perverse one is an abomination,
but with the upright is his friendship.
The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked,
but the dwelling of the just he blesses;
When dealing with the arrogant, he is stern,
but to the humble he shows kindness.

Jesus said to the crowd:
“No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel
or sets it under a bed;
rather, he places it on a lampstand
so that those who enter may see the light.
For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible,
and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light.
Take care, then, how you hear.
To anyone who has, more will be given,
and from the one who has not,
even what he seems to have will be taken away.”

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE
Dear People of God,
The Word of God in today's Gospel, God wants to tell everyone that The Word of God is the light that comes into the world and shines on all humanity.
Jesus gave a very specific example in human life: No one lights a lamp and puts it under the bed but must put it on a lampstand so that everyone can see the light, and through the light, everyone can see clearly and do everything well.
God is kind and loves humanity so He clearly shows humankind that The Word of God is the light that must shine for all humanity and is the path leading to the eternal Kingdom of Heaven in the future. May each person receive the light that is the Word of God teaching us to live and put into practice, which are: love, charity, generosity, forgiveness, humility, self-abasement, smallness, and simplicity. God wants that when each person receives the grace and light of God, that light and grace must also shine and spread to everyone.
God also calls everyone to pay attention to how to listen to and practice the word of God. When anyone listens to and practices according to God's commandments, they will bear good fruits, which are peace, happiness, being filled with God's love, and gaining eternal life.
Today's Word of God calls everyone to
- Always listen, contemplate the words of God, and put them into practice in life so that the words of God are always in the soul of each person, and we will have peace and happiness in the arms of God.
- Live and practice according to the words of God, which are the light that comes to the world, and we will become a shining example, helping everyone to look at that shining example and believe and live according to the words of God so that we may also receive salvation.
