MONDAY OF THE TENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME - Mt 5:1-12 - THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

"Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven." (Mt 5:12)

READING OF THE DAY

A reading from the first Book of Kings

1 Kgs 17:1-6

Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab:

“As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve,

during these years there shall be no dew or rain except at my word.”

The LORD then said to Elijah:

“Leave here, go east

and hide in the Wadi Cherith, east of the Jordan.

You shall drink of the stream,

and I have commanded ravens to feed you there.”

So he left and did as the LORD had commanded.

He went and remained by the Wadi Cherith, east of the Jordan.

Ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning,

and bread and meat in the evening,

and he drank from the stream.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY

From the Gospel according to Matthew

Mt 5:1-12

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain,

and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him.

He began to teach them, saying:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,

for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,

for they will inherit the land.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,

for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the clean of heart,

for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,

for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you

and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.

Rejoice and be glad,

for your reward will be great in heaven.

Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

MONDAY OF THE TENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME - Mt 5:1-12

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

Dear People of God,

In today's Word, God instructs humanity: To enter the Kingdom of Heaven, we must live according to the Eight Beatitudes that Jesus Christ taught on the mountain.

All the teachings in these Beatitudes are for the good of man. Because this is the word that comes from God to impart to humans, humans should continue to practice these Beatitudes and walk on the path of God's light and truth. Do not live according to what is worldly or sinful; because these things are not good for people. God the Father wants humanity to enjoy the light and love of God the Father in the Kingdom of Heaven, so everything that God teaches and imparts to humanity is truly happy because it is love. Only the merciful Father, God Himself, can give this command to His beloved children. Besides Him, there is no good law to teach mankind.

In God's Word today, God the Father calls people, His children, to listen to God's words and put them into practice according to the Eight Beatitudes today:

- “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.” God the Father wants to teach humanity: let go of all worldly things, to accumulate spiritual wealth, to live with love, and to be happy in the Kingdom of Heaven.

- God the Father wants people: to have a pure heart in order to be next to Him. The pure soul is no longer stained by worldly sins but lives completely in the love and holiness of God.

- God the Father wants people to always live righteously and uprightly: to follow only God the Father. Do not live crookedly, do not follow both the world and God; because then God the Father will not be pleased. God the Father wants people to devote their hearts only to Him.

- God the Father wants His children to follow His example and be meek and humble of heart. Do not live cruel, hypocritical lives like the world, like Satan is raging in this world.

- God the Father wants all of His children to always know how to unite, love each other, yield to, and forgive each other. Do not cause division, envy, jealousy, and hatred towards each other; for these evil things do not come from God the Father but from Satan. God the Father wants His children to abandon sin, eliminate Satan, and stop harboring hatred.

- God the Father wants everyone to aim for the Kingdom of Heaven. Take care to accumulate wealth for the Kingdom of Heaven, where no moth or insect can destroy it, that is a holy life pleasing to God the Father, protect the truth that comes from God, protect the Kingdom of Heaven, protecting God's children from Satan's captivity is having the courage to live and testify to God the Father, testifying to His love expressed in this world.

- God the Father wants all of His children to have the courage to proclaim the holy name of God the Father before the world so that Satan will lose, and worship Him alone as the only One.

God the Father wants all those who have known His work shown here at the Father's House to be wise and choose to follow God's path. Be courageous to bear witness to Him in the world, so that God the Father will give us the reward of enjoying happiness in the Kingdom of Heaven when He calls us out of this world.

Thanks be to God. Amen
