EXAMINATIONS OF CONSCIENCE

GUIDELINES FOR EXAMINING YOUR CONFESSION

__________________

*NoteWhen judging crimes, each crime must consider relationships in the family, at school, in the community, at work...Only judge your own sins, not the sins of others. For example: If I'm upset with someone, it's my fault, don't blame this person or that person as the reason for my discomfort.

How should we examine ourselves?
- Pray for the Holy Spirit to enlighten your heart and open your mind to realize your sins
- Read and meditate on the first decade of the Sorrowful Mysteries, asking the Virgin Mary to help you repent of your sins.
- Read the self-assessment report and consider each point. If you see any points that you have errors in, write them down on paper.
- Then look back at the sins you just wrote down and consider what the consequences are for each sin: the damage caused by your sins harms your relationships with God, and with others. How are you yourself?
- Determined to forgive sins and do penance.
- Resolve to apologize to others. If you no longer have a chance to apologize, then resolve to pray for them.

- Recite the prayer "Act of Contrition and the prayer "Ask for God's Mercy".
- Then go to confession (just mention your sins).

- After examining oneself, recite the following sutras:

ASK FOR MERCY, LORD

Father, merciful God, I beg You to have mercy on my soul;
Please consider my supplications and prayers;
Please forgive me for the mistakes I have made that have defiled my own soul.

Father, have mercy on my soul, because my disobedience has caused Your holy name to be profaned.

Have mercy on my soul, for my disobedience has grieved You; Because of my pride and disobedience, I did not listen to Father's instructions to always love God above all things and love others as myself.
I only think about myself, about my own soul, but I have made mistakes in charity, shortcomings towards others, that is, lack of sharing and giving.
I have disobeyed My teachings to know how to share and give the graces that I have given to me.
I ask you to forgive me. I ask you to give me strength.
I ask Mother Mary, Father Saint Joseph, the archangels, angels, and saints to help me, so that I can do the things that God the Father teaches me. Amen.

Act of Contrition

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more, and to avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen.

“My child, God the Father speaks to you. God the Father wants you to tell everyone to give thanks to God the Father for the grace of self-examination, repentance, recognizing sin, and resolving to amend your lives. God the Father wants you to know that when you confess, it is to remember how gravely your sins have offended God the Father and your brothers and sisters, so you must give thanks to God the Father for this grace.” (The Real Word of God 2025-01-10)
Dear brothers and sisters!
Today, at the end of the year, God wants us to take time to reflect on our lives over the past year, first to thank God for the graces He has bestowed upon each family and each individual, and also to recognize our weaknesses and sins, humbly asking for God's forgiveness to welcome the new year in peace and happiness.
God the Father, we praise and thank You for all the blessings You have given us. We thank You for allowing us to exist on this earth with the power and strength You have given us. If You had not given us breath, life, and love to nourish our souls and bodies, we would no longer exist in this world. We know that no prayer is more pleasing to You than the offering of thanksgiving. We thank You for everything.
But God the Father, before Your love and the many blessings You have given, we find ourselves truly unworthy because we have not lived according to Your Will, and we have committed many sins that displease You. We have not loved You above all things and loved our neighbors as ourselves, as You have taught us. Now, in this sacred moment, we kneel here, calming our souls to examine the mistakes and shortcomings that we have committed against You, against others, and against our own souls and bodies.
Dear brothers and sisters!
Each of us, when born into this life, must undergo God's purification. Our ancestors, Adam and Eve, did not pass this purification and fell.
"Self-examination" is to examine one's soul to see what sins and faults one has committed against God and against one's brothers and sisters, then humbly acknowledge the sin and resolve to repent, to avoid sin and occasions of sin in the future. Therefore, we must yearn to change our lives and ask God for the grace of conversion, for this grace does not come from man, but is a gift from God. The biggest mistake that prevents people from converting is not recognizing their own sins but blaming others. This has its roots in original sin.
How do we recognize the consequences of not acknowledging our sins in Adam and Eve?
In the work of the Holy Spirit, He reveals many things to humanity, clarifying the redemptive work of the Holy Trinity. One of these is the revelation of the Well of Salvation in 2023. During the process of opening this Well of Salvation, God allowed the soul of Eve to speak about her sin as follows:
That day, the day I was happy in the Garden of Eden, but dared to commit the sin of disobedience to God, yet God did not rebuke me, but He kindly asked me: "What have you done, Eve?" I did not dare to confess, but blamed the serpent for tempting me. (cf. Gen 3:13) So I had to step out of the Garden of Eden, the place filled with light, love, and the breath that God the Father had given. If at that time, I had bowed my head and confessed my sin and repented right there in the Garden of Eden, God would have continued to bestow His grace upon me.
Therefore, today God the Father wants me to tell all His children, that is, humankind living on this earth, not to follow my example of the past. When living in grace, bow your heads in thanksgiving to God, and be determined to obey His teachings, lest when He casts you out of the vineyard, out of His earthly paradise, you will not be able to turn back and repent.
These are the words of our Mother Eve, who disobeyed God. Now He has brought her into this work to explain the reason why humans were expelled from the Garden of Eden, the reason for human suffering on this earth. And He also shows humanity that when people choose the freedom to follow Satan and do evil, they belong to him and must leave God. And each person must take responsibility for their choices, not blaming anyone else. Ask for the grace to recognize your sins, then repent so that God may forgive you.
A practical example: when my husband mistreats me. How do I respond?
  • Do I choose to forgive my husband? To love him? Or do I harbor resentment, leading to hatred? If I choose hatred, it is my sin, and I must atone before God's justice for my choice.
  • My husband's mistreatment of me stems from his free will, and he too must answer to God's justice for his choice.
  • When my husband slaps me, or says something offensive that I hold onto, harboring resentment year after year.
And when my heart is troubled by hatred, it negatively affects my relationships with others, causing others to sin. So whose sin is greater?
  • But unfortunately, we often see ourselves as victims rather than sinners.
How are unborn children responsible for their free will choices?
We often assume that unborn children, whether formed or unformed in the womb, are innocent when they die or are killed. But in this third work, God reveals that a life is formed at the moment of conception. God breathes life, meaning the soul is infused with life and is granted the grace of free will, desires, and feelings. Having a soul means having an awareness of sin and free will, and being responsible for one's choices. So, when a fetus is killed in the womb, murdered in the mother's body, and harbors hatred, what becomes of that fetal soul?
Let us listen to the voices of the unborn children in November 2022, during the purifications of the Army of Light. To save souls, God allowed the souls of the unborn to speak as follows:
“We are the souls of the unborn.
Our mothers voluntarily went to hospitals to ask doctors and nurses, or private clinics, to abort us. We were cut into pieces, part by part. Our heads were removed, our arms were removed, our legs were removed. Then our bodies were cut apart.
But our hearts were still beating when we left our mothers' bodies, our hearts still faintly beating to breathe. Then we were put in a bag and thrown into the garbage, thrown into the waste, and then we were burned or eaten, or destroyed in the earth. Some of our siblings were put in bags and thrown into the fast-flowing river, making our bodies very cold. Our souls were also in great pain. We cried out, begging our mothers to have mercy on us, but our mothers did not hear our cries and screams. We are very sad, we hate our parents very much, because they did not have mercy on us, did not love us. Our parents abandoned us, callously discarded us to enjoy their own lives without giving us life, without letting us be born to be human. Our parents robbed us of our right to be human. We hate our parents, we hate them so much! That is also the reason why we have not been saved, have not yet entered into happiness with God the Father.
Today, we are blessed with God's mercy, taught by God, and brought back to His light, residing in His heart. We are overjoyed as our hearts have been opened. We submit to God's will, forgiving our parents' mistakes, so that we may be saved by God from the darkness that has long enveloped our souls.
Why do I harbor hatred when others harm my possessions and loved ones?
  • Because I think those things are mine, built by my own labor.
Let's consider Job's attitude in the face of his misfortunes: he did not harbor hatred for the loss of his possessions and children, because he was aware that everything he had was given by God, belonged to God, and it was God's right to take it away. So he blessed God instead of complaining.
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.”
In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.
What about me?
***
The more humbly we acknowledge that we are merely dust and ashes, nothing and having nothing, the easier it will be to let go of everything.
God's words to the devil, spoken about a person in the Army of Light who still harbors hatred, are as follows:
“For decades, you have lived in sin, hatred, debauchery, worldly passions, and lust, but He did not reject or abandon you. Instead, He showed mercy to your soul and body, bringing you to this work, cleansing you layer by layer of the sins accumulated over decades, so that you could become a child of God again, so that you could wear a new garment, a garment of purity, without Him remembering your sins, judging, or condemning you. But He expects you to repent and change your life, not to bring those painful pasts, that hatred, that obsession with winning and losing to others and to God. Examine yourself, in your heart, in the depths of your soul, do you know how to love? Do you know how to give? If you know how to love, you will know how to forgive, just like God, who is rich in mercy and forgiveness, constantly forgiving humanity. Even though humans are traitors, unfaithful, and rebellious, He always awaits their repentance.
God created mankind and inscribed in their hearts the fear of God and love for others. So, have you ever practiced this, or have you been a bad example for your descendants with your hatred, selfishness, judgment, anger, and stubbornness? So, consider this: in the past four years, since you learned about God's Work, have you tasted how much He loves you?
Savor God as a merciful Father, always loving humanity and waiting for people to repent and return to Him. Change your life now while you can. In these few years on earth, live meaningfully, live in a way that leaves a good example for your descendants to follow.
In short, through the Work of God the Father, God has clearly shown humanity: The most terrible sin of mankind is the sin of unforgiveness. Not forgiving others and not forgiving oneself will lead to eternal damnation in the sea of fire.”
****
So, what attitude should we have when confronting our sins?
When we see our numerous sins, the devil will also tempt us to be sad and tormented by sin. Therefore, we do not stop at recognizing sin and repenting, but through that, we must recognize God's love and mercy in our lives and be determined to change our lives, determined to abstain from sin, determined to sacrifice ourselves for God's work to atone for our sins.
"Lord, my sins are many, but Your love is far greater than my sins. So from now on, I am determined to change my life, determined to abstain from sin, and sacrifice myself for Your work."
"Lord, You love all creatures and do not despise anything You have made. You turn a blind eye to the sins of mankind, so that they may repent, and You forgive them, for You are our God." (Lent Sunday)
We can use two images for comparison.
  • First is the image of Judas Iscariot: after betraying the Lord, he was extremely remorseful for the sin he caused to his Teacher, Jesus Christ, but he only immersed himself in sin and forgot the three years following his Teacher, how he was loved, so he despaired and ended his own life.
  • The second image is that of Peter: Peter denied the Lord not just once but three times, but when he realized his mistake, it was also the moment he caught the Lord's compassionate and loving gaze, and it was that compassionate gaze that helped him truly repent, and he used his whole life to testify to God's love and mercy. This is also the attitude penitents should have after confession.
  • Now, I invite you to examine yourselves based on the Seven Deadly Sins, the Ten Commandments, including the Six Commandments of the Church, the Fourteen Works of Mercy, and the Eight Beatitudes.
  • FIRST, WITH THE 7 DEADLY SINS
  • The first deadly sin is Humility, not Pride.

  • Do I arrogantly consider myself more intelligent and capable than others, looking down on them?
  • Do I proudly deem myself morally superior and pure, scorning others?
  • Do I boast about my family background and social status to others?
